ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
The goal of this initiative is to reduce poverty and hunger among the vulnerable families of people living with HIV in rural and urban slums of Nairobi, Busia, Vihiga and Isiolo Counties. FAASIK in collaboration with like-minded partners offers entrepreneurship and life skills training to women and girls living with HIV. The trainings are mainly conducted within the established support groups at the grassroots level.
The training empowers the participants with business ideas and practical steps of starting small scale businesses such as selling vegetables, boiled eggs, detergents and drinks such as coffee, porridge and tea using tea urns in order to support their livelihood. Through the establishment of small scale business, the vulnerable families of people living with HIV are able to earn some income that helps them to buy the necessary commodities and improve their livelihoods.
