FAASIK OFFERS GIFTS OF SNACKS TO THE NEEDY CHILDREN DURING EID-UL-FITR HOLIDAY
The Muslim community around the world celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitrholiday on May 24, 2020 in a very unique way due to COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike other Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, there were was no religious and social gatherings in Kenya as Kenyans continued to obey the restrictions measures which have been set up by the government in order to help to curb the spread of the Corona Virus. The novel Corona virus has subjected many families into a state of being needy and requires humanitarian assistance
In response to the prevailing humanitarian situation, FAASIK led by Rose Victoria Oyungu, Executive Director and Yasmin Hassan, Program Director of Giving Hope and Care project donated Snacks to the needy children including orphans at Pangani in Nairobi County. Some of the children were learners at the nearby Madrasa. The children expressed their gratitude to FAASIK for the gifts of the snacks such as biscuits, sodas and juices. ‘I am very happy for giving us the biscuits and juices, may Allah bless you,’ said Mohammed. ‘May your act of kindness continue to touch the lives of so many orphaned children,’ said Mary. FAASIK will continue to carry its mission in collaboration with stakeholders towards improving the livelihoods of widows, orphans and People Living with HIV.
